Friday was the Toronto FC vs Real Madrid friendly (which cost TFC over $1 million US to get Real to show up) match. The game ended 5-1 for Madrid. 2 goals by Raul, 1 goal by Ronaldo, Benzema and Robben. Gabe Gala scored for TFC. Very disappointing game for FC but if you're a Real fan you can smile a little knowing you're newest recruits (C.Ronaldo, Kaka, & Xabi Alonso) have played really well, especially Ronaldo.
I hate the guy but once in awhile you just gotta give it to him that he is a good player. However he has no class what so ever. The thing that sets soccer players apart from players of other sports is that they barely have media contact, so when they finally do they are very kind people to talk to. They acknowledge you're there. Ronaldo went from Pearson to the hotel to BMO Field without waving at one fan. These people payed a lot of money to see you (unless you're NickJones who gets free tickets... fag lol) so be kind.
Only bright spot in the TFC side was Gala's goal in the 75th minute. Gala's a player who hasn't played all season for TFC, I think it's time to change that.
Raul, captain of Real Madrid, played well too. He didn't get called up to play for Spain in the Euro Cup in 2008. My friend told me that all players would be playing well this year since it's a World Cup year and all. I guess that's why Raul's trying to make headlines.
Here's a video recap of the demolishment:
